In order to steadily improve our sustainable methods we collaborate with experts in this field. GeoFarm is a management support-software for farmers which we develop in cooperation with the following institutions: The national aeronautics and space research center of the Federal Republic of Germany, the companies HORSCH and Leeb, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Fritzmeier. Originally the idea came up during our daily work in the fields: Which measures have to be taken when and where? We tackle practical problems that occur in the field and it is our goal to make the solutions to those problems available to the public. In the EDAUG project we help develop a steering system for the towing bars of tractors: one tractor will steer another that is doing the same job via wireless communication – no second driver is needed. Our partners for this project are Fendt/AGCO and KIT. Another example for the progress in farming-technology is the online calculation-system for nitrogen fertilizing (e. g. for wheat), called INFIELD. Various parameters are collected and analyzed in the system so that the field receives the exact amount of fertilizer that it needs. Our partners for this project are: Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research and Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops.
